The answer is yes, pawn shops in general are a good place to buy and sell LPs. However, keep in mind that not all pawn shops are the same, so if you want to be absolutely sure, call your local pawn shop and ask them if they take records.

Whether you are an experienced collector or just want to turn an old record into cash, there are a few things everyone should do before selling or pawning their records at a pawn shop.
- Know the value of your record. Do a quick internet search to get a sense of how much your record is worth. This is just to give you a frame of reference; remember that no pawn shop will give you the exact market value of your record.
- Clean your record. As with anything else, you want to put your best foot forward when pawning your LPs. Remove any stains from the cover and clean the vinyl record using a microfiber cloth and distilled water.
- Determine if you want to pawn or sell. If you choose to pawn your record, you will get it back when you repay your loan. If you sell it, you cannot get it back, but the pawn shop may be able to offer you more money. The choice is yours!
